AGBEZIN Bamidele George

AGBEZIN Bamidele George is a Nigerian born Togolese artist, born on the island of Lagos on July 27th 1973 to a sculptor father.
He had his elementary education in Lagos and had his tertiary education at the prestigious institute of management and technology, Enugu state with a higher national diploma in fine and applied art majoring in painting in 2000.
He began full time studio practice immediately, opening his studio in a studio home on a vast land. Agbezin began dealing with collectors for about 6 years before galleries began dealing with is great collectable paintings.
He is represented by Nike gallery in Nigeria and some galleries in Togo and USA. He paints mostly on canvas in oil and acrylics. He is a multitalented artist, though he derives more pleasure in his impostor approach and high paint relief of his clinical rendition of rooftops and landscapes. To Dele his environment is his first influence, using its architecture and serenity to explain his thoughts and demonstrate his inspiration.

Face to Face He belongs to the Society of Nigerian artists and the Pan African circle of artists. He is a founding member of FIREBRAND group of artists and also curates all its exhibitions. He founded ART clique, a group with vision and passion for plain art.Dele has had commissions with the state government, private collectors and he also has participated in over 35 group and private exhibitions, in Nigeria, USA, Canada and 7 other countries in Africa. 25 magazines and newspaper houses have written about his themes and fascinating colors. Recently, a magazine in Chicago had a documentary on his works.

Dr Robin R. Sanders, the former American Ambassador to Nigeria, as well as a former Nigerian minister of finance are amongst his collectors. Dele has had commissions to adorn the walls of some 5 star hotels in Nigeria with his works, a thorough bred artist he has also been mentioned in “A Celebration of Modern Nigerian Art - 101 Nigerian Artists”, written by Chukwuemeka Bosah and with a foreword by artist George Edozie.
